NFL WEEK 2 Buzz rankings

Welcome to the Buzz Board for Week 2 of the NFL season. Let’s take a look at who is trending up, as well as those trending down.

Game 1: Lions vs. Bills

Detroit Lions

The Lions will come in as a 3-bee rating on our Buzz Board. This is almost entirely due to the offense. Josh Allen might be the hottest player in the NFL as of late, but there is no excuse to lose by 10 points while dropping 31. Honestly, this team is who they are at this point. Dan Campbell may have been right when he proclaimed that the 2023 NFC Championship Game may have been their only shot.

Buffalo Bills

To no one’s surprise, the Bills will come out of Week 2 with a 5 out of 5 rating. Allen looks to be firing on about 16 cylinders. The defense leaves something to be desired, but the Lions have weapons and scored 14 of their points in the fourth quarter out of desperation. I don’t see this team falling off much after proving it versus two very good teams.

Game 2: Bengals vs. Texans

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are starting out this season well. This is a bona fide miracle. The defense, which has been pulverized in years past, looks more than serviceable. The offense is actually stuttering a bit, but who among us doesn’t trust the Burrow-to-Chase connection over time? I’m going with a 4-bee rating for Cincinnati.

Houston Texans

Is this still a top-five defense? After returning most of the same players from the vaunted 2025 defense, they don’t look like the world-beaters of last year. Then again, C.J. Stroud’s offense putting up only 6 points doesn’t help any team win a game. At 0-2, the Texans have earned themselves a worrisome 2-bee rating.

Game 3: Packers vs. Jets

Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love might legitimately die on the field this year. Hyperbole? Maybe. I’m really not sure. The Packers’ offensive line looks like they put a hit out on Love every passing play. They may have won the game against the Jets, but a fourth-quarter and overtime rally against a 35-year-old Geno Smith doesn’t move the needle for me. Let’s give the Packers a 2-bee rating until they show us something of value.

New York Jets

Is there a game that encapsulates the Jets better than this? As much as I would love to see a good Jets season (mostly out of pity), I simply don’t believe this team is better than 7 wins. This game came against a Packers team that is running on empty. I have to give the Jets a 2-bee rating, which would be a 1 if not for their win against the Titans.

Game 4: Saints vs. Ravens

New Orleans Saints

This team very well could’ve been 2-0 against some very hyped squads if not for a controversial call in Week 1 against the Lions. Shough looks very up-and-down, but there is very clearly something there. After another lackluster start, the young QB manufactured a win against Lamar Jackson’s Ravens on the road in Baltimore. This warrants a 4-bee Buzz Board rating.

Baltimore Ravens

Is this team going to do this every year? No one loses a game they should probably win each year like the Ravens with Jackson at the helm. I’ll give credit where it’s due after a week 1 shellacking of the Colts, but this game should have warning signs all over it. I’ll give the Ravens a 3-bee rating, but even that seems to be pushing it.

Game 5: Eagles vs. Titans

Philadelphia Eagles

Are we sure Kevin Patullo ever really left? I have never seen a team get more credit for terrible wins against terrible teams than the Eagles in the last two years. Sure, Hurts put together a game-winning drive. Are we going to ignore the fact that he needed to do that against a Titans team that looks like it would be lucky to win 6 games? I don’t trust this team at all despite their record, so I’m thinking a 2-bee rating will age well.

Tennessee Titans

What do we make of Cam Ward at this point? Unfortunately, I don’t see much to give me any confidence. I don’t see how any team would willingly hire Brian Daboll. I just don’t like the vibes at all. This team doesn’t have a stinger, so they will get a 1-bee rating.

Game 6: Vikings vs. Bears

Minnesota Vikings

This team has done more impressive stuff than possibly any other in the league. How else do you react to a 2-0 team that has Carson Wentz manning the ship in 2026? They completely shut down the Bears, albeit on a rain-drenched field. The team around Wentz makes it easy on him, and that is the sign of a good squad. I believe they have earned a 5-bee rating.

Chicago Bears

It is no secret that potent passing offenses hate the rain. The measly 3-point showing Sunday could very well be a product of this, but it still shows that they aren’t invincible. This is especially true when a team has to play against Brian Flores. Caleb Williams was injured, but he will not be out long term. I am not panicking about this team yet. Give me a 4-bee rating for this team.

Game 7: Browns vs. Buccaneers

Cleveland Browns

I genuinely can’t believe it. The Cleveland Browns beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Deshaun Watson at QB. What did we just see? I am not sure, but a win is a win. Is this team good now? I’d bet the house it’s not. I can’t give them anything other than a 1-bee rating.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This is one of the most embarrassing losses in recent memory. Baker Mayfield had every reason to drop a bomb on this terrible team. Instead, we watched a Todd Bowles disaster class and plenty of missed throws. This will also keep Deshaun Watson as the starter for another week. That is a terrible feat. This team has not earned anything more than a 1-bee rating.

Game 8: Steelers vs. Patriots

Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers might be the most washed QB I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching. The 42-year-old looks like arthritis could render him bedridden at any point. The defense still looks good, but it could be benefiting from playing Drake Maye. This team looks godawful and is going to sit at a 1-bee rating this week.

New England Patriots

Drake Maye currently has 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. I was shocked when people were ready to crown him elite last year, and I think this season has shown more clearly what he really is. After an insanely lucky postseason run in which he was mediocre, he is looking lackluster. Beating Aaron Rodgers in 2026 doesn’t do much for me. I’ll give the Pats a 3-bee rating.

Game 9: Falcons vs. Panthers

Carolina Panthers

Is Bryce Young… good? The stats say yes. 3 touchdowns in multiple weeks against anyone will grab my attention. Carolina has some serious weapons on offense and will likely be in for a lot of shootouts this year. I can’t ignore Week 1, though, which is why the Panthers will take home a 3-bee rating.

Atlanta Falcons

Not ideal for a season home opener. Just 3 points! I will always love Cooper Rush for his Cowboys tenure, but he looked hapless out there. I could still see Bijan Robinson saving this team, or at least making them watchable. 2 bees.

Game 10: Raiders vs. Chargers

Las Vegas Raiders

It still feels strange to type out Las Vegas Raiders. What’s stranger, perhaps, is this team looking good. Old man Kirk Cousins aired out 3 touchdowns, and the Raiders are undefeated. However, the skill position players on this team worry me too much to buy in. 3 bees for the record.

Los Angeles Chargers

Good lord. This team is actually terrible. I must admit I used to be a Justin Herbert defender, but this is rough. The excuses are up. This just isn’t bad luck anymore! This is Herbert’s 7th year! I’m hitting the panic button on this team and awarding them 1 bee.

Game 11: Jaguars vs. Broncos

Jacksonville Jaguars

After taking a 13-3 lead, I thought they might be able to squeeze a win in Mile High Stadium. Of course, the Broncos had other plans. I’m not going to panic yet, but the offense is looking middling under Trevor Lawrence. This team might just sit at a 2-bee rating.

Denver Broncos

They lived by the comeback last year, and they started off this season similarly. They haven’t looked terrible, but I am worried about them in a conference with Mahomes surrounded by a competent team. Nevertheless, the defense alone nets them a 4-bee rating.

Game 12: Commanders vs. Cowboys

Washington Commanders

The football gods have shown the Commanders no mercy. In what might have been a shootout due to Dallas having one of the worst defenses in the league (again), Jayden Daniels dislocated his elbow again. Being forced to start Marcus Mariota is close to a death sentence. This team will sit at 1 bee.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys offense looks like it got back to form. That being said, I still have a lot of questions about my team. I suppose the defense looked serviceable, but that could’ve been a different story if Daniels had not gone down. Still, I don’t know enough to sway one direction or the other, so the Cowboys look like a 3-bee team.

Game 13: Dolphins vs. 49ers

Miami Dolphins

I’m not going to waste words. This team is a dumpster fire. 1 bee.

San Francisco 49ers

Once again, Brock Purdy proves why he is the most underrated quarterback in the league. Throw as many injuries as you want into the mix; the Purdy-Shanahan connection will have the 9ers fighting against anyone. This team might be my pick for the best in the league. 5 bees sounds right.

Game 14: Seahawks vs. Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks

The defending champs prove they can do it under any circumstances. Jaxon Smith-Njigba looks like the best wide receiver in the league, and backup Drew Lock doesn’t look half bad himself. The defense looks just as good as last year. Are we about to see this team repeat amidst all of the hype around the league? You never know, but I’m going to stick with a 5-bee rating until proven otherwise.

Arizona Cardinals

This team could only manage 151 total yards in this game. I don’t care who you’re playing; that is a major red flag. Jacoby Brissett looked overwhelmed, and this defense had absolutely no answers for JSN. Who does? Still, the Week 1 win will keep them from the dreaded bottom of the barrel. 2 bees for the Cardinals.

Game 15: Colts vs. Chiefs

Indianapolis Colts

There are no moral victories in football, but maybe this comes close. The Colts very well could have won this game. The offense did not look half bad for a team led by a quarterback fresh off of an Achilles’ tear. Losing to the greatest player of our generation in overtime is nothing to be ashamed of. However, the secondary looked lost out there. This team deserves 3 bees.

Kansas City Chiefs

I believe it is safe to say that Patrick Mahomes is back. I’m not entirely sure he ever left. Matt Nagy can hinder any quarterback in the league. Kenneth Walker looks like the best offseason addition in the NFL. Even TE Travis Kelce seems to have turned back the clock. I will never bet against Mahomes. This team will earn yet another 5-bee rating.

Game 16: Giants vs. Rams

New York Giants

The NFC East cannot catch a break. 2 QBs sustained rather gruesome injuries this week and look to be out for a long time. Jaxson Dart is now undergoing surgery and will likely miss the season. It remains to be seen how Jameis Winston will perform, but this game did not raise any hope. This team has fluttered down to a 2-bee rating.

Los Angeles Rams

No Puka, no problem. After a horrendous Week 1 game that may have been due to travel arrangements, the ship seems to have been course-corrected. Davante Adams looked like he found the fountain of youth, and Matt Stafford can still sling it. If this team can hold out until both Puka Nacua and Myles Garrett are back, things will be very scary for the rest of the league. 5 bees.

Have a fantastic week and enjoy some football!
